One of the fastest growing trees in the world
Fascinating import from China that can grow up to 2.5m in one season and with simply massive leaves up to 30cm across. Produces a wonderful display of purple foxglove like flowers in spring before leaf emergence to rival any cherry.
In China, the tree is planted to mark the birth of a girl and is cut down for use in a dowry once she reaches marriage age.
